my name is emma ferneyhough. i currently live in New York City going to graduate school for psychology at NYU. i moved here from Nashville, TN where i worked in a cognitive neuroscience lab at Vanderbilt University as a research assistant studying visual perception. before that, i lived in Berkeley, CA where i did my undergraduate coursework at UC Berkeley majoring in Cognitive Neuroscience and minoring in Social Anthropology. my interests include much of what i have here on this website. i like taking pictures and during lazy summers i am sometimes able to find the time to develop some myself. i draw when the mood strikes me, try to draw comics when i'm feeling industrious and creative, and i often write in a journal online. i am attracted to colorful things.
now, a little more about me. i was born in malacca (melaka) malaysia in 1981. my mom is malay and my dad is english, both are (were) electrical engineers. from what i understand, when i was still young, my family moved to england (where i learned how to walk). from there, we left for california where i have lived ever since, besides a brief stint in austin, texas during the years '89-'91 where i learned about new kids on the block and paula abdul. cities we have lived include cupertino, sunnyvale, saratoga and truckee, where i finished the last three quarters of high school before moving to berkeley. i enjoy listening to music, watching movies and tv, skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, biking, kissing, making websites, sitting in the sunshine and things like that.
